High Hopes Lyric Nail Art for Mental Health Awareness Week

Hello! This week (16-22nd May 2016) is Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK and I wanted to do something for this on my nails.

I've struggled with anxiety for as long as I can remember yet I only recently asked for help with as something happened that made me realised I wasn't coping as well as I thought I was.

I was searching for ideas on what to do for these nails and then the song 'High hopes' by Kodaline popped up on my playlist and I had a sudden brainwave! Their music really helps to calm me down and I personally find these lyrics incredibly relatable and so are perfect for these nails!

The lyrics I've chosen are, 'I know it's crazy to believe in silly things, but it's not that easy' which sums up how I feel a lot of the time! I know that most people don't understand why I worry about things that don't need to be worried about but it's something I really struggle with.

I actually started this blog when I was having a particularly tough time with anxiety and depression and now I've been doing it two years I can see the improvement it has made for me! So I felt I had to do something on my nails for Mental Health Week to share my own expereince!

The base coat is Barry M's 'Eat My Dust' but is pretty much covered in the design! I did this by really watering down acrylic paint and marbling the colours together! I like to think the marbling symbolises how muddled up my brain gets in the middle of an anxiety attack!
